The Lessing Institute does not arrange flights to Prague these are the students' own responsibility. Please see the links below for useful information on getting to Prague from North American or European locations.
Downtown Prague is perhaps best appreciated on foot. However, the city is also serviced by a very good public transport system, and by using a combination of trams, metro and busses you can easily get around city. The City Transport Authority (Dopravni Podnik or just DP in Czech language) network covers the whole of Prague and includes trams, city buses and metro (subway). The same ticket is used on all parts of the public transport system, and can be obtained from metro stations, newsstands or the City Transport Authority Information Offices. Validate your ticket by punching it in a little yellow machine in the metro station lobby or on the bus or tram. The Prague Card pass is also good for unlimited public transport plus free admission to the museums, galleries and other attractions. The Lessing Institute issues its students with a two-week transport pass valid on buses, trams and the subway.
The metro network is safe, reliable and clean, and runs from 5 am to midnight daily every 3-10 minutes. There are three lines and around forty stations. The bus and tram network covers the whole city of Prague. Most run from 4:30 am to 11:30 pm daily every 5-25 minutes. There is also limited night service on certain tram and bus lines from midnight to 5 am. You can view the website for Prague's Public Transport.
